Todd Howard: Game Leaks Harm Both Developers and Players

Todd Howard, the renowned head of Bethesda Game Studios, believes that premature leaks regarding the company's games are detrimental to both the development team and the player community. He recently highlighted the case of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, information about which surfaced before its official reveal.

During an interview with GamesRadar, Howard discussed the issue of leaks, emphasizing their negative impact. He used the Oblivion remaster as an example where early information created confusion among players.

"If you hear we're doing a remaster of a game, everyone has their own version of what that means. And I think it just adds to the uncertainty."

These incidents, according to Howard, only reinforce Bethesda's commitment to minimizing the time between a game's official announcement and its actual release.

He also reflected on the project's performance:

"[The Oblivion Remaster] turned out to be incredibly successful. And that, of course, makes us think: will there be remasters of our other games in the future? If so, which ones? How will we approach this? We're thinking about all of that."
