The recent events at Epic Games are sparking considerable outrage among various representatives of the gaming industry.

Following the news of extensive layoffs at Epic Games, several industry figures have voiced their strong opinions.

Chet Faliszek, a former writer for Valve, known for his work on popular franchises like Left 4 Dead, Half-Life, and Counter-Strike, openly shared his perspective:

"Can anyone explain to me why anyone currently employed at Epic should put in their full effort? Epic just laid off a thousand people. And now they're going to shut down Fortnite Rocket Racing, Ballistic, and Festival Battle Stage [...] Epic Games is not a public company. There's no need to chase stock market figures. This is Tim Sweeney's decision. A thousand people — that's more than the total number of employees at Valve."

Faliszek further noted that Sweeney has seemingly concentrated his efforts on a single project — Fortnite:

"And now Tim has completely stopped making games altogether — he's developing just one [Fortnite], spending all his time on it and trying to earn as much money as possible. Well, Tim, it seems Gabe [Newell] is better than you at that [making money]. I don't even know what to tell you, buddy — you simply stopped thinking about creating anything else."
