Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, addressed player concerns regarding the potential vastness of Grand Theft Auto VI, emphasizing that despite its immense size, the game will remain accessible to a wide audience.
In an interview with The Game Business, Zelnick stated that the company doesn’t view it as an issue if adult players, burdened with family and work responsibilities, might not fully complete such a colossal project. He highlighted that the publisher’s portfolio caters to diverse user categories, ranging from sports series like NBA 2K and WWE 2K to more mature titles, which include GTA.
Zelnick also expressed confidence that the new installment will attract both a younger audience and devoted fans of the series. He noted that a lack of prior experience with games like Grand Theft Auto V or Grand Theft Auto IV will not be a barrier to enjoying GTA 6. According to him, the company aims to engage “every suitable player.”
He specifically reached out to older gamers, reminding them that a passion for video games doesn’t fade with age: if someone enjoyed games at 17, they can continue to derive pleasure from them even at 40.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is still scheduled for release on November 19th and will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
