Microsoft’s Unique Game Kiln Launches April 23 on PS5, Xbox, PC – Open Beta Soon!

Microsoft is continuing its strategy of releasing first-party and partner games across multiple platforms, with the latest announcement confirming a PlayStation 5 launch for an upcoming title. Double Fine Productions, known for its creative and distinct games, is set to release its new project, Kiln, this April.

Kiln, an unusual online team-based brawl game first revealed in January, now has an official release date: April 23rd. Players can look forward to a fresh take on multiplayer combat, blending creativity with chaotic action.

At its heart, Kiln is a competitive team game where players craft their unique fighters from clay on a potter’s wheel. The design and form of these characters directly influence their statistics and abilities, adding a layer of strategic depth to the artistic process. Two teams of four will compete, tasked with collecting water and attempting to ‘extinguish’ the opposing team’s furnace, all while engaging in frenetic battles to destroy enemy units.

The gameplay masterfully combines creative expression with action-packed combat. Players can sculpt various types of ‘fighters,’ ranging from agile and swift characters to more robust and durable ones. Each design choice unlocks unique abilities, and additional decorative details further customize the visual appeal of your clay warriors.

Kiln is slated for a simultaneous launch across multiple platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 5, and cloud services. Additionally, subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will have immediate access to the game upon release, reinforcing Microsoft’s commitment to its subscription service.

Before the full launch, an open beta will be held from April 9th to April 11th, offering players a chance to experience the unique gameplay mechanics and test their clay-crafting skills ahead of time.
