Independent studio Megagon Industries is celebrating a significant achievement: their skiing title, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, has reached over one million players across PC and Xbox Series X|S. This milestone was likely boosted by its inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass library.
To commemorate this success, Megagon has released a free update for the winter sports game, introducing two new gameplay modes for players to enjoy.
The first mode, Trick Mode, becomes accessible at level 20. It challenges skilled skiers with over 100 specific scenarios and challenges designed for scoring points while descending the slopes.
The second mode is Free Ride, available upon reaching level 35. This mode removes checkpoints and predefined paths, focusing solely on speed as players race down the mountainside.
Both new modes include leaderboards and achievements. Importantly for players who prefer not to engage in online multiplayer, these modes offer sufficient XP gain to reach the maximum account level without needing to compete directly with others.
Megagon has also incorporated various accessibility features into the game, including auto-brake, auto-accelerate, toggle options for actions instead of requiring holds, and customizable button mapping.
Further content updates are planned, with a new expansion anticipated in the fall, coinciding with the game`s planned release on PlayStation 5.
