Nintendo has officially confirmed the lead actors for its highly anticipated live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Fans eagerly awaiting news about the iconic characters can now look forward to seeing them brought to life on the big screen.
Via a social media announcement from Nintendo, attributed to series creator Shigeru Miyamoto, English actors Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth have been cast as Princess Zelda and Link, respectively.
Bragason`s notable works include TV series such as `The Jetty` and `Renegade Nell,` as well as the 2024 film `The Radleys.` Ainsworth is recognized for his role in `The Haunting of Bly Manor` and for voicing Pinocchio in the 2022 live-action remake, demonstrating their experience across various genres.
Initially slated for a March 26, 2027 release, Nintendo later adjusted the movie`s premiere date, pushing it back almost two months to May 7, 2027.
The project is a collaborative effort, with Nintendo partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment for financing. Shigeru Miyamoto will serve as a producer alongside Avi Arad, known for his extensive work on successful franchises like the Spider-Man film series and Uncharted, promising a blend of creative vision and cinematic expertise.
