Red Dead Redemption 2’s Latest Patch Fails to Resolve Achievement Bug, Sparking Player Complaints to Rockstar

The achievement system in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) is currently causing issues for players, many of whom are seeking to revert their in-game statistics.

In late March, PC gamers were surprised by unexpected technical updates for both Red Dead Redemption and RDR2 on Steam, which were linked to Rockstar Games’ services. Following these updates, a system glitch occurred, resulting in some players who launched either RDR1 or RDR2 being randomly awarded achievements for game progression and Red Dead Online gameplay.

Developers soon released another patch to address these problems. However, the “affected” players still have undeserved achievements visible on their Steam profiles. Interestingly, these “acquired” achievements are blocked on the Rockstar Social Club website, indicating that the bug is confined to Steam’s platform.

Members of the Red Dead Redemption and RDR2 Steam communities are now actively lodging complaints with Rockstar Games support. So far, they have not received specific solutions; representatives from Rockstar have only stated that they are investigating the issue.

A number of players are currently refraining from accessing Red Dead Online, expressing concerns about potential bans due to these unearned achievements.
