A glimpse into the action-packed world of Samson, the spiritual successor to Driver.

Samson, a game widely positioned as the spiritual successor to the classic Driver series, recently unveiled a new gameplay trailer designed to showcase its graphics, created in collaboration with NVIDIA. However, this much-anticipated reveal was met with significant criticism from players.

Previously, the developers had already teased fans with glimpses of the adventure’s main characters and various in-game locations. The new material was specifically intended to highlight the graphical fidelity, with the PC version expected to feature advanced visuals, including ray tracing support.

For enhanced ray tracing performance, Samson will incorporate full support for DLSS 4.5. This cutting-edge upscaling technology is slated to be available on the game’s release day, April 8, 2026. Unlike many other titles, players won’t be required to configure DLSS 4.5 via the NVIDIA App; it will be directly accessible within the game’s menu, offering a seamless experience.

Despite these promising technical specifications, the trailer, published on the official NVIDIA GeForce channel, left many viewers disappointed. Instead of displaying a stable 60 frames per second, the video exhibited performance closer to an unstable 30 fps, characterized by choppy frametime and noticeable stuttering. Many users in the YouTube comments section swiftly labeled the footage as “anti-advertisement,” expressing widespread apprehension regarding the project’s overall optimization.

Developers have previously confirmed that Samson will also be released on consoles at a later date, following its initial PC launch.
