Sega Sammy Reports $31.6 Million Net Loss and Cancels ‘Super Game’ Project Amid Strategic Pivot

Sega Sammy has announced its financial results for the fiscal year concluding on March 31, 2026. Despite a 13.6% rise in net sales, the company experienced a downturn in its entertainment content segment, which encompasses its video games division. Operating income within this sector decreased from ¥40.8 billion (approximately $259 million) to ¥32.4 billion (around $205.5 million).

In a significant strategic maneuver, Sega Sammy has also confirmed the cancellation of its highly anticipated ‘Super Game’ project. This decision marks a notable shift in the company’s future development plans.
