Bethesda has officially confirmed the development of a PlayStation 5 version for its acclaimed space RPG, Starfield, and has now revealed its highly anticipated release date.

The game is slated for release on April 7, 2026. This launch will coincide with a significant update titled “Free Lanes” and the debut of the first major story expansion, “Terran Armada.”

Starfield will be offered in two distinct editions: a Standard Edition priced at $49.99 and a Premium Edition available for $69.99. The Premium Edition includes:

  • The base game
  • The story DLC “Terran Armada”
  • The second story DLC “Shattered Space”
  • 1000 Creation Credits (which will become available post-release)
  • An exclusive Constellation Skin Pack
  • A digital artbook and the original soundtrack

Owners of the Standard Edition will have the option to upgrade to the Premium Edition for an additional cost of $24.99. Both the Standard and Premium versions of the game are planned for release in both digital and physical formats.

The PlayStation 5 version is set to fully leverage the console’s capabilities. Players can anticipate a native 4K resolution, a stable 60 frames per second gameplay, and rapid loading times. Furthermore, the game will feature comprehensive support for the unique functionalities of the DualSense controller, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, the lightbar, integrated speaker, and touchpad. Enhancements specifically for the PlayStation 5 Pro have also been confirmed.
