Gameplay Group and PM Studios have officially announced that Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is set to launch on July 2, 2026. The highly anticipated title will be available across multiple platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. Notably, the previously planned PS4 version appears to have been canceled.
The developers have meticulously crafted the game to transform the iconic elemental abilities of the heroes into dynamic and engaging combat mechanics. Players will have the option to purchase the game in two distinct editions:
- Standard Edition ($29.99): This edition includes a robust roster of 12 fighters, a captivating story mode, an arcade mode, comprehensive training options, and tutorials to master character techniques.
- Deluxe Edition ($49.99): For fans looking for more, the Deluxe Edition offers a digital soundtrack, an exclusive artbook, and a Year 1 Pass, which will grant access to new heroes released post-launch.
At its core, the gameplay is a classic 1v1 2D fighting experience. A standout feature of the project is its stunning visual presentation: over 900 frames of animation have been painstakingly hand-drawn for each character, ensuring an authentic and precise recreation of the beloved animated series’ unique style.

To ensure a seamless online experience, the game’s network code supports advanced rollback netcode technology, which is designed to minimize lag and ensure smooth online battles. Furthermore, full cross-play functionality has been confirmed, enabling players to compete against each other regardless of their chosen platform. Following its initial announcement in October and a subsequent closed alpha test, the project is now entering its final stages of development, gearing up for its global release.
