Crimson Desert Plot Criticized: Pearl Abyss CEO Admits Shortcomings

Both the gaming community and critics largely agree that Crimson Desert’s storyline fell short of expectations. Surprisingly, Pearl Abyss CEO Ho Jin Yong broadly concurs with this assessment.

Addressing shareholders, Ho responded to inquiries regarding the narrative’s weaknesses, stating:

The disappointment concerning the plot’s deficiencies is acutely felt by our development team as well. Our inability to enhance it stems from our own internal shortcomings.

The company head further elaborated that the development team primarily focused on leveraging their strengths in gameplay during the project. He expressed optimism that in their next title, they will be able to significantly improve and expand upon the narrative component. These remarks indirectly lend credence to earlier circulating reports about challenges faced during the development process.
