The gaming community is undertaking a major update for the beloved classic.

Following the recent reveal of an unofficial RTX remaster for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, modders have now unveiled their ambitious plans for a “Community Edition” of the game:

“It is with great pride and joy that I announce our team, with the approval of Ubisoft and the support of Valve, is actively working on a fan-made ‘Community Edition’ of Dark Messiah, leveraging the latest Source 1 SDK! While full details are still under wraps, this new version will notably ensure much greater stability and, crucially, provide direct access to the source code for future expansions and fixes. Most importantly, this project is entirely entrusted to the community, allowing all of us to collectively enhance this outstanding game.”

The initial RTX remaster of Dark Messiah of Might is already available on GitHub as “DarkMessiah-RTX-Mod-Files” by KingDavidW.
