NVIDIA Spotlights Quake III Arena RTX Remaster; Early Access Mod with ‘Area 15 NVIDIA Bunker’ Map Now Available

NVIDIA has recently drawn community attention to an impressive fan-made RTX remaster of the classic Quake III Arena, a project developed using the company’s powerful tools. This new rendition promises to challenge modern graphics cards once again, bringing a fresh visual experience to the beloved arena shooter.

A recent trailer showcased a modernized version of the iconic map, “Area 15 – Nvidia Bunker.” The remaster boasts cutting-edge features including full path tracing, support for DLSS 4, new physically-based rendering (PBR) materials, integration of the RTX Remix Logic system, and significantly improved Advanced Particle Visual Effects.

The current iteration, Quake III Arena RTX Remix Mod v0.6, is already available on ModDB. The project has transitioned from a “demo” status to “early access,” inviting players to experience this graphically overhauled classic.
