SAG-AFTRA Bans Members from Working on Capcom’s Mega Man: Dual Override

The SAG-AFTRA union, representing approximately 160,000 media professionals including actors and voice actors, has issued a “Do Not Work Order” concerning Capcom’s upcoming project, Mega Man: Dual Override.

According to the union’s statement, the game’s producer has not entered into an agreement with the union, leading to the prohibition of SAG-AFTRA members from participating in the project until further notice.

This decision specifically impacts voice actor Ben Diskin, who will be unable to reprise his role as the titular character, Mega Man.

Diskin revealed that he was offered the opportunity to return to the role, but only under the condition of working without the protection of a union contract.

Despite Capcom allegedly offering “full AI protection guarantees” for his voice, the company reportedly refused to place the project under a union contract.

The actor emphasized that he cannot take such a risk without a legally protected agreement, as defending informal arrangements would require personally suing a large corporation, incurring significant financial and emotional costs.
