A new, enhanced version of Elden Ring has been unveiled, showcasing notably improved performance on what is widely referred to as the Nintendo Switch 2.
Initially, the highly anticipated Elden Ring was projected for a 2025 launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. However, the release has since been postponed. Developer FromSoftware explicitly requested additional time to further optimize and enhance the game’s overall performance.
Recently, gaming publication GameSpot reignited interest in this optimized version by releasing a 9-minute gameplay segment. This footage offered a detailed exploration of the familiar Limgrave region, providing a clearer look at the game’s visual and operational upgrades.
According to the journalist who reviewed the footage, this particular iteration of Elden Ring operates “much smoother” than previous demonstrations or expectations.
Gamers can now anticipate the release of Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026.
