“Realism Doesn’t Equal Fun”: Escape from Tarkov Fans Threaten Uninstall Over New Aiming System, Nikita Buyanov Responds

The developer’s vision for Escape from Tarkov is not being universally embraced by the player base.

Recently, Nikita Buyanov, the head of Battlestate Games, announced significant changes to the game’s ergonomics. These plans include introducing a more “realistic” aiming system.

However, many members of the EFT community were not pleased with this idea and quickly voiced their criticism. For instance, popular streamer LVNDMARK shared his opinion:

“Realism doesn’t equate to fun gameplay, and I honestly don’t think [this aiming] is even realistic. You should be removing some mechanics that have made the game clunky, not adding new ones. Just my opinion.”

Some participants in the discussion went as far as threatening to uninstall Escape from Tarkov. They believe that Battlestate Games seems to be intentionally making the game less “fun” and more frustrating.

Soon after, Nikita Buyanov responded to the uproar:

“Guys, I understand and have received your feedback on the planned aiming changes. Calm down, there will be another iteration, and we will test everything on [a special server] first. If you still don’t like it — then I’ll double my efforts and add it to the game as quickly as possible!”

“Just kidding. Let’s first observe and test [the aiming] with the new changes to balance everything out. I hope this adds more immersion and you’ll like it. Don’t worry, only one team member and I are working on this.”
