Payday 3 has received its March update, version 3.3, which marks the beginning of the gradual implementation of peer-to-peer (P2P) connections. While the functionality has been added, it will not be immediately active. The developers plan to conduct additional testing before completely transitioning away from the dedicated server system.

Alongside this significant backend change, the update introduces several gameplay enhancements and fixes:

  • Changes have been made to the hacking mechanic on high difficulty levels to “discourage indiscriminate button mashing.”
  • Bugs related to one of the masks have been fixed, and the first-person slide animation has been updated.
  • A 6-second invulnerability period has been introduced for players joining an ongoing session.
  • Smoke and fog effects from gas grenades have been updated.
  • Older versions of the BISON and RG5 weapons have been reinstated.

A specific change aimed at fostering inclusivity has also been implemented: security guards will now be more diverse. Private security companies have revised their physical fitness requirements to be more inclusive, meaning players will now encounter guards with a wider variety of body types.
