The developers behind the pirate RPG Caribbean Legend are taking steps to make their game more inclusive by addressing the needs of various players.
In their latest development diary, the creators revealed upcoming accessibility options, underscoring their commitment to inclusivity:
Inclusivity starts with us. With every player request we address. Therefore, from this moment, we are beginning to work on the accessibility of our game, and the first step will be the addition of color schemes for people with color vision deficiencies.

Players will also have the option to change the color scheme for the “Course Angle” display, allowing for a more subdued palette:

A “Navigation Assistance” option will be introduced, allowing players to toggle navigational arrows on the compass that indicate maximum speed relative to the wind.
The developers also detailed an “Increased Dialogue Text” option:
This setting has long been requested by SteamDeck users and other players for whom the current dialogue text size is too small. With this option, you can sacrifice some aesthetics to increase the size of dialogue windows by 30%.
In addition to accessibility features, the creators of Caribbean Legend are continuously refining the game’s naval AI. This ongoing work includes:
- Increased aggressiveness, particularly for ships that initiate attacks on the player. This aims to reduce cowardly pirate behavior and prevent quest ships from disengaging.
- Smarter projectile selection. Enemies will more intelligently choose their attack distance and consider their cannon charge percentage.
- New volley modes will become available and will be actively utilized by enemy ships.
- The firing accuracy of enemy vessels will see a noticeable improvement.
