Crimson Desert Players Report ‘Trauma’ from Early-Game Quarry Quest, Many Misunderstand Its Objective

Newcomers to Crimson Desert are facing an unexpectedly tough challenge in an early-game quest, with many reporting a “traumatic” experience. Players are gradually exploring the game’s content and sharing their impressions, and for many, the quarry quest has become a huge problem and a deeply frustrating ordeal.

The issue stems from the fact that this quest can be encountered at a very early stage of the game, yet it presents new players with a severe test.

To achieve “100%” completion, one might think of defeating enemies: each kill contributes only 0.5% to the progress bar, meaning hundreds of opponents would need to be eliminated. There’s also a very robust boss involved.

However, it appears this combat-heavy approach is not the intended method for completing the quest. Some community members have discovered a much simpler way to progress.

One player shared their experience, noting: “It seems most of us were simply misunderstanding. We didn’t need to kill hundreds of enemies — it was enough to destroy the barracks and a couple of other structures listed in the objectives. Each of them immediately reduces the ‘enemies defeated’ meter by approximately 33.3%. Although I did complete the challenge the hard way initially. I only realized how it truly worked when I looked it up later. And I thought, ‘There’s no way this was actually designed like that!’ But if it’s any comfort: after all those fights, we definitely became much better at combat.”

Nonetheless, not all players believe the problem lies with their understanding. There’s a strong sentiment that this quest represents a miscalculation on the part of Crimson Desert’s developers. Players gain access to it too early and are unprepared for such an intense challenge, leading to significant frustration and a negative early game impression.
